Beyoncé hit the stage at Coachella on Saturday night, and the internet is still reverberating from a jaw-dropping performance that left fans in ecstasy.
Headlining the third night at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., Beyoncé’s two-hour show featured the first Destiny’s Child reunion since the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show; a dance-off with her sister, Solange; a surprise appearance by her husband, rap superstar Jay-Z; as well as 100 backup dancers and a 200-member marching band.
The college-themed spectacle had some fans saying the Coachella festival might as well change its name, to Beychella.
Even the New York Times gushed Sunday: “There’s not likely to be a more meaningful, absorbing, forceful and radical performance by an American musician this year, or any year soon.”

You might not be a fan of her music, but you can’t say Beyonce isn’t one of the greatest entertainers of all-time. She just took us to a HBCU football game, danced and held notes at the same damn time, all WHILE doing a month’s worth of cardio in two hours. #Beychella #Coachella

In addition to the tens of thousands of fans watching live from the festival, an estimated hundreds of thousands more watched via livestream on Alphabet Inc.’s GOOGL, -0.12% YouTube.
“Thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline Coachella,” Beyoncé said at the end of her show. She had been scheduled to headline in 2017, but had to cancel because of her pregnancy.
She will also perform next Saturday for the second weekend of the festival, but that show will not be live-streamed.
