U.K. ticketing website Ticketmaster UK said on Wednesday that customer data may have been compromised by malicious software.
Ticketmaster, which is owned by U.S. events promoter Live Nation Entertainment Inc. LYV, -1.63% , said that on Saturday it identified malicious software on a customer support product hosted by a third-party supplier, Inbenta Technologies, that was exporting data to an unknown recipient. The company said that it disabled the Inbenta product as soon as it discovered the software.
Ticketmaster said less than 5% of its global customer base has been affected, and customers in North America aren’t affected. The company said it will contact all potentially affected customers, and information which may have been compromised includes names, addresses, emails, telephone numbers, payment details and Ticketmaster login details.
Those who may have been affected include U.K. customers who made purchases between February and June 23, and international customers who made purchases between September 2017 and June 23, Ticketmaster said.
